Most corporations have multiple offices, often geographically dispersed and sometimes by very large distances. A Multiple-Site design takes into account some or all of the offices and designs a system that utilizes more than one (physical) location for hosting servers/services. This could equate to a hub and spoke caching architecture or something as complex as a 3-way replicated multiple-master solution.
